A high-impact awards experience, designed to perform on stage

Each year, the WA Civil Construction Industry & Training Awards brings together industry leaders, partners and emerging talent to recognise excellence across the sector. For this 500-guest event at Crown Perth, the brief was simple: create an awards night with impact, energy and strong visual presence.

The brief

Deliver a stage that felt considered, clean and elevated for award presentations, with a clear focus on improving how moments captured on camera.

There were specific concerns about the visual clutter of band equipment. Rather than introducing time-intensive stage changes, Encore reworked the design to retain all production elements while achieving a more refined, cohesive result.

The solution

Encore approached the brief by rethinking the stage as a design feature, not just a functional requirement. Rather than hiding production elements, the team integrated them into a stronger visual composition that elevated the overall look and feel.

A central 10-metre LED wall anchored the stage, supported by custom LED panels installed at 45-degree angles to introduce depth and frame the stage. Additional triangular LED elements were incorporated across the stage, creating a more layered and visual aesthetic.

A unique touch was the placement of two earth movers either side of the stage as a nod to the construction industry.

The experience was extended across the room through dual projection screens and a digital lectern carrying branded content, ensuring consistency across all viewing angles. Lighting was used to align with the event’s colour palette and unify the overall look, with Encore’s latest TourPro Aurora M5 fixtures adding texture and depth to the space.

The event flowed seamlessly from formal presentations into celebration, delivering a polished experience throughout.
