The focus has shifted away from novelty for novelty\u2019s sake, and toward technology that is simpler to deploy, more flexible and designed to scale across increasingly complex event environments.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the key trends that stood out.<\/p>\n<h3>From \u201cNew Tech\u201d to Operational Reality<\/h3>\n<p>One of the strongest themes at ISE 2026 was a move technology toward tools that are <strong>ready for real\u2011world delivery<\/strong>. The stands I visited and exhibitors I spoke to highlighted that innovation is <strong>no longer about adding layers of complexity, but about removing friction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Across audio, video, control and networking, vendors emphasised:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Faster setup and repeatability<\/li>\n<li>Standardised configurations<\/li>\n<li>Reduced points of failure<\/li>\n<li>Systems that are easier to support at scale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the events industry, this reinforces a broader shift. Clients are less interested in what\u2019s theoretically possible and more focused on what can be delivered reliably, consistently and confidently across multiple events and locations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> <\/div>\n\n<div class=\"custom-block \" > <div class=\"text-block\"><div class=\"container container--fluid\"><div class=\"row justify-center\"><div class=\"col-lg-10\"><div class=\"\">  <div class=\"text\" data-pinnable><h3>AI is becoming infrastructure, not a stand alone feature or solution<\/h3>\n<p>As you\u2019d expect, artificial intelligence was everywhere at ISE 2026, but what I observed was that AI tech has matured and advanced, specific to the events industry. Rather than being positioned as a headline feature, AI is increasingly being embedded into the underlying operation of AV systems.<\/p>\n<p>In my view, we\u2019re going to see AI increasingly being used for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Intelligent camera framing and tracking<\/li>\n<li>Audio optimisation and speech clarity<\/li>\n<li>Captioning and accessibility support<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring system health and performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>AI is not to replace people, but rather support faster decision\u2011making, improve consistency and accessibility and reduce manual intervention during live environments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What is interoperability and how will it be used\/implemented?<\/h3>\n<p>Another major takeaway from ISE 2026 was the growing momentum behind interoperability. In the it\u2019s simplest terms for the events industry interoperability is refers to how different pieces of event technology can connect and work smoothly together, allowing events to run reliably across in-person and hybrid formats, with less technical risk and a consistent experience for audiences.<\/p>\n<p>As a technician by trade, that\u2019s music to my ears.<\/p>\n<p>In practical terms it means systems that simply connect and work together seamlessly, reducing risk and increasing flexibility.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Broadcast and live events continue to converge, but in more sophisticate ways<\/h3>\n<p>ISE 2026 reinforced what many in the industry are already experiencing: the line between broadcast and live events continues to blur.<\/p>\n<p>At the show, I observed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increased use of broadcast technologies for corporate and experiential events<\/li>\n<li>Greater emphasis on content quality and storytelling<\/li>\n<li>Demand for environments that are both live\u2011audience and camera\u2011ready<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As expectations rise for how events are experienced both in\u2011room and online, this convergence is reshaping how production environments are designed and delivered.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s genuinely exciting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Security is not optional, it\u2019s vital!<\/h3>\n<p>As AV systems become more connected, cybersecurity has emerged as a vital topic and I certainly observed multiple examples at ISE 2026, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Secure\u2011by\u2011design hardware<\/li>\n<li>Network segmentation<\/li>\n<li>Governance around cloud\u2011connected AV systems<\/li>\n<li>Greater alignment between AV and IT teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the events industry,<\/strong> where temporary networks and fast deployments are common, the importance of security will increasingly influence how systems are specified and supported.<\/p>\n<p>I observed a shift in focus from technology that supports creativity rather than complicating it and enables repeatable delivery solutions that are reliable and focussed on audience connection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For event professionals,<\/strong> is that technology is becoming more dependable and interoperable. What this means is teams can spend less time managing systems and more time focusing on storytelling, experience design and meaningful engagements.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>In conclusion<\/h3>\n<p>For me, ISE 2026 didn\u2019t just showcase what\u2019s new. It showed how the industry is maturing and advancing and where it\u2019s heading next.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> <\/div>\n\n<div class=\"custom-block
